The Woodlands Young Learners Academy leadership team is made up of professionals each bringing specific expertise in business administration and development, education and curriculum development, and early childhood facilities management.

dsc_8191retoucheddsc_8235retouchedDan Altom {Director of Finance} Dan oversees The Woodlands Young Learners Academy Administration and Facilities responsibilities. Dan holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University. Dan, his wife, and daughter make their home in Magnolia, Texas. During his career in the Financial Services sector he held the Series 7 and Series 63 Securities licenses, Group 1 and 4 Texas Insurance License, and is a certified Texas Mediator. He has experience with business valuation, succession planning and wealth management. Dan owned and managed small business operations since his teen years across a number of industries including service, retail, finance, and fine art.

dsc_8262retouchedDeborah Kaschik {Director of Curriculum} Deborah has spent 30  years as a professional educator in both the Education and Financial Industries in both Arkansas and Texas. Deborah, a Woodlands resident since 1990, currently resides in Alden Bridge with her husband and their son. Deborah has earned a Masters of Education in Gifted and Talented Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas; in addition, during her career in the Financial Services Sector, Deborah achieved her Series 7, Series 24, and Series 63 licenses through the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc.  Deborah also holds certifications specializing in Early Childhood Education, Language, and Learning Disabilities, as well as professional training in developing reading skills.  She is an active member of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce and is currently Vice President of Business Development, 2013 Class Graduate of Leadership Montgomery County and is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

dsc_8222retouchedEd Ziegler {Director of Facilities} Ed graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining the team, Ed worked with Trinity Episcopal Church, University of Houston and Human Resource Connection. Ed is an MS150 Fundraiser Cycling Tour Team Captain, Dragon Boat Team Captain and Camp Alleen Summer Camp Session Director. Mr. Ziegler resides in The Woodlands with his wife Katy and two children.
