The debate between Private Kindergarten
and Public Kindergarten programs is long standing. When
parents are deciding which program type to enroll their children
in, many parents evaluate the two choices based on: A) “Will
the program sufficiently prepare my child for first grade?" and
B) “Value to
my child’s total learning experience.” At The
Woodlands Young Learner’s Academy, our private Kinder 1st™ program
is developed to fulfill both of these key parental requirements
with rewards visible for years to come.
The Woodlands Young Learner’s Academy Kinder 1st™ program
combines the necessary Kindergarten and First Grade skills to
ensure your child is prepared to move forward in his or her future
academic success.
Students enrolled in The Woodlands
Young Learner’s Academy's
Kinder 1st™ program receive instruction from our cutting-edge
curriculum focusing on our specialized “Gifted and Talented;
Higher Level Thinking Educational Model™.” Each
student receives personalized attention through low student-teacher
ratios, and individualized learning modules designed to both
challenge and reward our students to their fullest potential.
Based on the Texas Essential Knowledge
and Skills for Kindergarten and Texas Essential Knowledge and
Skills for First Grade criteria, TWYLA’s curriculum requirements integrate the required
elements while encouraging higher level thinking skills
to provide each student the opportunity to realize his or her
maximum potential.
Each child in TWYLA’s Kinder 1st™ program will have
an initial evaluation. During that time, information is
gathered to assess the necessary educational, social, and emotional needs
of each student. After the initial assessment, each Kinder
1st™ student will receive an Individualized Educational
Plan, IEP, allowing TWYLA’s Academic Enrichment Team to
monitor each child's progress throughout the year. After
the IEP, each student is continually evaluated to measure
class participation, educational ability as well as social and
emotional achievements. During each scheduled parent-teacher
conference, the individual student’s IEP is discussed and
reviewed.
